Spirit . first time purchase of the brand ,
material and cut look good, nice training weight.
i have ordered for beginners
sorry no view on performance or shrinkage
good value for the price
The gi fits well and sits nicely under my hakama. I am not a fan of elasticated waist on the trousers. I am close to the end of my aikido teaching career so i guess this gi will have to be the last that I buy
Good weight and size
I'm 6ft 1 & 18st, The gi fit well and has a good weight to the material. For the price this is probably the best you will get.
excellent beginners judo gi
Excellent judo gi for beginners. Ordered one for myself and the one for a friend.
Quick delivery and fantastic value
I ordered the Spirit suit size 3/160 for my growing 11 yr old son who is 163 cm tall after reading other people's reviews. To be honest I might have gone with the 4/170 and just turned the sleeves up as this would last him longer but i was needing it quickly and didnt know if i would have time to do it. I like the elasticated waist on the trousers, though if your not slim they maybe on to tight side. All his previous suits have all been Blitz ones which are nearly £10 more expensive for the same quality suit. I ordered the suit on Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday and that was without paying extra for the quicker delivery. Will definitely be buying Spirit suits again and certainly recommend them.
Best budget judogi
I've tried pretty much all the budget judo gis out there and this has to be the best quality at this price point. The longer cut favours the taller, slimmer build, shorter or stockier practitioners may want to look at the blitz equivalent but will be paying a lot more for similar, if not lower quality.
The material is of a medium weight, a fair bit heavier than other competition at this price point, standing up to considerable punishment without being overly bulky, stiff or hot. I've yet to find any quality control issues with the stitching and my only consideration before recommending to students is that the jacket and sleeves may be too long for some.
Generous in size
Good quality and good value for money. My son is 165cm tall and I ordered the 170cm kit, but it was far too big and wide! Called Martial Art Shop and they were very helpful and exchanged for smaller size with no problem. 160cm fits perfectly.
Excellent quality for the price
I bought this suit for Aikido. I bought my last Aikido suits in Japan in one of the well known suppliers there and this gi easily matches the quality at a fraction of the price. It fits nicely (I'm 5ft 10ins and about 82Kgs and the size 5 fits well). The elasticated trousers are really comfortable. The jacket is roomy but with a Hakama it doesn't move around too much and feels soft. I now pick this suit in preference to the ones from Japan. When I need more suits I know where to go
I have purchased 3 of these gi over the past two years they are great quality and hardly shrink when washed correctly. In my opinion exactly the same quality as a far more expensive gi we purchased elsewhere. Always a pleasure to deal with the guys at The martial arts shop.
Great value judogi
If Spirit did Black gis they'd be exceedingly good value gis. I'm waiting...
