    The roped bokken is both sturdy, easy to handle and aesthetic to look at and ideal for form.

    A slight drawback was that the item is descibed as "Cherry oak" but upon opening the wrapping I discovered a paper tag stating that it was made of beech wood. The bokken was for a gift and this made no difference as the birthday boy was truly delighted with his present.
