Fit for Purpose
For heavybag work I prefer to use grappling gloves, as the knuckle protection is kept to a safe minimum, my hands can breathe, and I can combine other exercises into a circuit without having to take the gloves off. Having more enthusiasm than technique, I sometimes find I catch the exposed part of my fingers on the seams of the bag when using normal grappling gloves. Where these are different is in the extra 1/2 an inch of length covering the fingers. It may not sound much but, for me, it's the perfect compromise and stops me cutting my finger joints.
The construction is a bit crude and the material inside is not particularly comfortable (hand wraps are advisable), but the gloves are very competitively priced, and offer good finger protection and wrist support.
